Australian Merino is the most valuable sheep breed in the world. Its wool is finer than regular Merino: the fiber diameter is only 15–18 microns (for comparison, standard Merino wool is 20–24 microns). Australian pastures with a mild climate and centuries of selective breeding ensure consistently high fiber quality – which is why Australian Merino is considered the gold standard among natural textile materials.
